LUMA Stars
Graduating Interns and Gallery Student Managers
Ryan Tracy
has been a long-time
employee at Loyola University
Museum of Art, working at the
museum since the beginning of
his Freshman year. After spending
a few years as a gallery manager,
Ryan eventually became an intern
in Social Media/Public Relations. Ryan enjoys the relaxed
atmosphere of LUMA, and has made many good friends in
his time working here. Now a senior at Loyola, he is finishing
up his undergraduate degrees in Journalism and Political
Science. He says he has an interest not only in politics,
but how politics and identity intersect with everyday life.
Outside of LUMA, he interns at Chicago Public Media’s
Vocalo radio station and volunteers at Loyola’s WLUW
college radio station as a DJ. After graduation he hopes
to stay in Chicago to find a job in radio, but also plans on
working freelance and fostering his own creative projects.
Grace Iverson
is currently an
Education Intern who works with
LUMA’s lovely docents. She has
also worked as a Gallery Manager.
Grace has been at LUMA since her
freshman year and has enjoyed every
second of it. She is a Senior studying
Art History and Anthropology. Her love of museums was
cultivated by her patient mother, who frequently brought her
to the Art Institute and the FieldMuseum. Post graduation,
she looks forward to continuing her career in museums,
moving in with her girlfriend, and adopting a dog, hopefully
some type of ratty chihuahua mix. She is eternally grateful
to her LUMA family past and present.
SydneyWarren
has been working
at LUMA since the summer before
her Junior year as a Gallery Student
Manager. Sydney enjoys learning
about the history and meaning
behind the art at LUMA, and
appreciates how LUMA has helped
her meet so many amazing people. Sydney is currently
finishing up a Social Work major and plans to apply to
graduate school to become an Occupational Therapist in
her future. Sydney is an identical twin and is the oldest of
six, her younger brother and sister also being twins! Sydney
enjoys watching Netflix, going to the movies, playing with
her cat, and exploring the sights and different cuisines of
Chicago.
Nikko Huante
has been working
at LUMA for one year as a Gallery
Student Manager. Nikko believes the
social skills and basic knowledge of
museum operations he has gained at
LUMAwill contribute to a successful
career post-graduation. In his leisure
time Nikko likes to play catch with my 2 year-old nephew,
collect sports memorabilia, go crate digging and watch
reruns of The Office with his girlfriend (whom he met at
LUMA). Nikko is currently working towards a Political
Science degree and plans on getting involved with grassroots
political organizing in Chicago’s immigrant communities.
As the son of Chicano and Irish parents Nikko feels that
Chicago is the right place to contribute to the city’s legacy
of advocating for immigrant rights. Currently, Nikko is also
working on Evanston AldermanMark Tendam’s campaign
for mayor.
Congratulations to all of LUMA’s graduating Interns and Gallery Student Managers!
Thank you for your hard work and being a part of the LUMA team!
