Journey to Spain with LUMA!

W

e invite you to join the Loyola University Museum of Art (LUMA) on an exciting cultural and spiritual pilgrimage.

Corresponding with LUMA’s mission dedicated to exploring, promoting, and understanding art and artistic

expression that illuminates enduring spiritual questions, this tour will engage the art and spirituality of Spain,

especially in light of St. Ignatius of Loyola. We will visit the great art museums and the architectural wonders of Madrid,

Bilbao, San Sebastián and Barcelona. We will immerse ourselves in the challenges and the adventures of the founder of

the Jesuits, as we follow in his footsteps through the Basque and Catalan regions of Spain, such as the castle of Loyola,

Arantzazu, Pamplona, Javier Castle (Xavier), Verdu, Montserrat and Manresa. We will have time for personal reflection,

meditation, prayer and the celebration of the liturgy. In addition, we will enjoy the gorgeous countryside and delicious

Spanish cuisine. Finding God in all things is one of the maxims of Ignatian Spirituality. We hope that you will join us in

this pursuit as we journey to Spain.
