S

teve Schapiro has documented some of the

most significant political leaders, celebrities,

and social events of the past 50 years. Over

the course of his career, the New York native has

photographed an array of topics ranging from the

Civil Rights Movement to the plight of migrant

workers in Arkansas. He remains as prolific as ever,

continuing to produce new projects and to release

new books. Loyola University Museum of Art is

thrilled to announce that we will exhibit his new

series

Misericordia: Together We Celebrate

in the

Harlan J. Berk Works on Paper gallery. We spoke

with Schapiro about his new project, and how it fits

in with his larger body of work.

Steve Schapiro’s exhibition

Misericordia: Together

We Celebrate

will be on view in LUMA’s Works on

Paper Gallery until June 3, 2017.
