Northwestern’s Museum Studies certificate program crosses academic and
professional boundaries as theory and practical experience come together in a
curriculum that prepares participants for careers in administration and preservation.
Public and private museums, arboretums, scientific institutions, government
agencies, historical societies, national park sites, and preservation centers are just
some of the places where museum studies backgrounds are most in demand.
Students in this three-course program build a solid knowledge base covering
museum practices, strategies, and the contemporary role played by museum
collections and exhibits. Courses are taught by leading museum professionals.
