Nathan Ellstrand
served as an Education and Curatorial Intern at LUMA during
summer 2017, and hopes to continue to be involved with the museum in the future.
The grandson of two artists, he grew up going to art museums with his grandmothers,
which gave him an appreciation for art from an early age. He is a second year PhD
student in United States History with a minor in Public History. He is interested in
twentieth century US political history with connections to Latin America. Away from
campus, Nathan enjoys eating (he’s a foodie!), traveling, and riding his bike.
Paige Grantham
is a senior advertising major at Loyola University and worked as a
Gallery Manager and an Advancement Intern for three years. Raised in Elgin, Illinois,
Paige plans to work at an agency that specializes in digital marketing in the future.
Majoring in advertising appealed to her because it combines being creative as well
as analytical. She also enjoys learning about cultures, which is 75% of advertising. In
her free time, she likes to create music playlists, practice her Spanish, and travel. She
enjoyed working at LUMA because it was fun being with other students and provided
a great way to expand her community at Loyola. Over winter break, Paige will be
working at the Christkindlmarket at the Daley Plaza.
Tahjanae Sullivan
has been a Gallery Manager at LUMA for the past two years.
Tahjanae’s favorite part about working at the museum is that her coworkers and
supervisors are like family. She loves that she talks to her coworkers like brothers
and sisters, and that her supervisors are like her second moms. Tahjanae recently
graduated from Arrupe College in August. She is the first person in her family to go to
a private university and went to school up until two weeks before she gave birth to her
daughter, Genesis! In the future, she has plans to go to law school to become a criminal
prosecutor, and anyone who knows Tahjanae knows that she is not a quitter! In her free
time, Tahjanae likes to have family dates with her husband and daughter.
Clara Langrall
is a Columbia College Chicago alumna with an interdisciplinary
degree in cultural studies and film. Interested in art and art history, she has found
a home at LUMA as a docent. She is fascinated by the cultural, political, and
metaphysical elements of art, as well as its technical aspects. The museum’s mission
of making art come alive has been exciting for her to be part of. Clara’s background
includes poetry, prose, research paper-writing, critical theory, philosophy, identity-
politics, literature, history, event organizing, film, theater, drawing, painting,
performance art, zine-making and music. Most recently she collaborated with
Chicago-based photographer Susan Aurinko, both modeling and writing poetry
for her upcoming photography series.
