Forest Preserves of Cook County 2019 Spring Brochure

fpdcc.com During the spring, you may notice a number of seasonal changes occurring throughout the Forest Preserves of Cook County—some that last only a few days or weeks. Ephemeral wildflowers bloom, migrating birds stop to rest on their long journeys and many animals re-emerge from winter slumbers. This guide highlights some of these springtime happenings in the Preserves. There are also plenty of programs and events to experience the re-awakening of nature, including guided bird walks and wildflower walks, wildlife presentations and more. Or you can plan a self-guided excursion and enjoy the beauty of the season while hiking, biking or simply spending a peaceful afternoon outdoors. We hope to see you in the Preserves!
