MEET OUR
NEW MUSICIANS
ELIZABETH BEILMAN
is the principal violist of the
Sarasota Orchestra and violist of the Sarasota String
Quartet. She has appeared with the Los Angeles
Philharmonic and as guest principal violist of the North
Carolina Symphony. She was awarded the President’s
Prize at the 2013 Lionel Tertis International Viola
Competition and the Grand Prize at the 2013 Hennings-
Fischer Young Artists Competition. She has previously
served as viola faculty at the Luzerne Music Center.
Czech violinist
MATOUS MICHAL
began studying the
violin with his father at age three. He went on to attend the
Prague Conservatory and study with Jaroslav Foltyn. At
age 17 he moved to New York City to earn his bachelor’s
degree at The Juilliard School of Music where he studied
under Glenn Dicterow, the former concertmaster of the
New York Philharmonic. Mr. Michal is currently continuing
his studies at the Manhattan School of Music pursuing
his master’s degree in orchestral performance under the
guidance of both Mr. Dicterow and Lisa Kim.
Violinist
JAYNA PARK
joined the violin section of the
Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra in 2001. Born in South
Korea, Ms. Park made her orchestra solo debut at age 7
with Daegu Philharmonic. At 11, she came to study violin
with the renowned violinist Berl Senofsky at the Peabody
Conservatory. In demand as a soloist and chamber
musician, Ms. Park has performed as soloist with the
Korean Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra, the Suwon
Symphony, the Netherlands National Radio Orchestra
and the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra.
A native of Seoul, South Korea, violinist
SUNJOO PARK
is a regular substitute musician with the Minnesota
Orchestra. She received her bachelor’s degree from Seoul
National University, then moved to Los Angeles to pursue
her Artist Diploma with Robert Lipsett at the Colburn
School. Sunjoo is currently finishing her fellowship with
New World Symphony, and this fall she will be studying
with Chris Wu of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at
Carnegie Mellon University.
